Weep

My drawings are multiple layers of graphite on paper, spray varnished and mounted to a 1 1/2" deep wood panel. They depict landscapes from places where I grew up , lived, or have had meaningful experiences. These pieces I'm submitting to the "All the Fixins'" show are of the South, particularly Florida, where I grew up and as a young adult grew meaningful connections to these places. I am especially drawn to areas where land meets water, be it fresh, brackish, or salt, large, small, still, or tidal. I take all my own reference images while traveling, visiting, or re-visiting places. I am always aware of where I am, what I'm reminded of, and how it impacts my and others' lived experiences. The titles of the pieces are verbs related to water, land, etc.
